Alana is joining us from a clinical background. She enjoys being versatile in her practice - focusing on any problem areas her client wants to tackle. Alana grew up in a variety of sports; most recently she has been enjoying tennis, golf, biking, and skiing. Through her experience playing sports, she is able to customize a massage session that can help her clients through their specific sports related pain points.

A graduate of Mount Royal University’s 2200 hour massage therapy program, Alana has been a registered massage therapist since December 2022. The interest in becoming a massage therapist came to her after her massage experience as a client. Through her exploration of yoga, when combined with massage created a sense of inner stillness and tension release. She wanted to share this meditative space and connection with her body that she unlocked with others, and thought massage would be a great way to do this. She appreciates the ways in which our bodies strive to support and heal us, and is fascinated by the resilience and intelligence of the human body. Her favourite things about massage are that she’s able to help people experience a sense of relief and well-being; to provide them comfort on hard days. Alana loves that massage never feels stagnant; whether it’s learning something new from a client or taking a course to further specialize, there is always room to grow.

Alana says that self care is anything that reduces stress and promotes self compassion, which can mean relaxing and watching a movie, listening to music, or spending time with loved ones. In her spare time, she loves traveling, exploring new restaurants, breweries, getting tattoos, exercising, and crocheting (her current project is a granny square blanket). Her dream vacation is either a long backpacking trip, a visit to Japan, or a good old all inclusive for maximum relaxation!

After sustaining injuries to her neck & shoulder, in a fairly bad accident over a decade ago, Breann experienced firsthand the benefits of massage. Through massage and other forms of treatment she was able to heal. She fell in love with the process of her healing journey and knew that this was her calling. This was how she would be able to help others, through the power of massage and getting to the root of an issue, rather than just fixing the problem.

Although Breann is a recent grad of the 3000 hour program at Makami College, her therapeutic skills are that if someone who has been massaging for years. When booking in a treatment with Breann, her focus is going to be on you! Her compassionate, holistic approach blends with with her therapeutic knowledge and the natural healing power of the human body.

Massage is an important part of injury prevention, rehabilitation, and overall health. Breann is passionate about fascia release. Fascia is a thin connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, nerve fibre and muscle in place. Fascial adhesions can form due to many things including - trauma, injury, surgery, poor posture, or inactivity - to name a few, and Breann’s techniques have proven to make a significant difference in these adhesions.

Outside the spa, Breann is an avid yogi and does her best to soak up every moment of sunshine outdoors with her rescue dog by her side. In the winter months, Breann keeps warm with a hot yoga session and enjoys a cup of tea. Her east coast family constantly has the kettle boiling, and enjoys the comfort of settling in to share a cup with her closest people.

Although Britt has only been a practicing massage therapist since 2019, the calling to help people where she can, has been been years in the making. Through her schooling from the 2200 hour program at the Canadian Institute of Chinese Medicine, she was fortunate enough to have been taught both Eastern and Western medicine. This allows her, to approach treatment in many ways that value a holistic system. Britt is passionate about breath-work and enjoys cupping. She regularly uses cups on herself as well.

When booking in a treatment with Britt, you can expect her to show up. “For my practice it’s just to meet people where they are, and listen. Some people need a clinical support box; some people need an emotional or energetic approach; it’s all welcome, and it’s not my job to tell anyone what they need. It’s my job to listen to their needs, and respect where they are at.”

Britt sees massage as an important part of someone’s life because humans need compassion. One way we experience that support is through mindful touch. Massage is helpful in a wide variety of conditions because the circulation of our blood is necessary to feel better physically. There’s so much stress out there, that Britt wants you to unplug for an hour or two. Yes, we said two! Britt offers two hour treatments for those that need the extra time.

When Britt isn’t working, you’ll probably find her cooking up a delicious soup, browsing the seed section at a plant shop for her garden, or following her cat around the house.

Best wellness advice: “Be curious. Wonder about what is going on in your mind & body, and be open to hear your body. And always, meet your first limit; respect that limit. But then be curious about it too!”

Jackie always felt that healing work was a part of her path, which led her to become a Reiki Practitioner. Through an old job, she met one of her oldest and greatest friends, who became one of her wisest teachers. Jackie learned how to integrate and expand on gifts that had been with her throughout her childhood and into her adult life. Not long after, she began practicing and discovered that her grandmother and namesake performed similar practices throughout her life in South Sudan. This solidified Jackie’s belief that working as a healer was something that was always meant to be, as it is a part of who she is.

Although Jackie has always been a natural healer, she received her formal training and experience through Pranic Forest Esoteric Apothecary. She is trained in Reiki, Pranic healing, crystal therapy, aromatherapy, and sound therapy.

Jackie has been providing her healing services to the collective for four years. However, during the past year, she chose to close her services to the public and focus on resting, restoring, and replenishing herself.

If you have an energy healing session with Jackie, you can expect a tailored chakra clearing and charging that matches your energetic needs. Jackie uses Reiki, Pranic healing, aromatherapy, and crystal therapy to do this. Additionally, she incorporates sound healing through singing alchemy bowls, which are tuned to different points in the auric field and designed to break up any density within. The session ends with a grounding foot rub to help you feel rooted while integrating this healing. Jackie believes that her purpose fundamentally lies in transformation and rebirth, which is fitting as she is a Scorpio.

Throughout her life, she has found herself being a catalyst for change, and she believes that her treatments reflect this. Jackie’s favorite self-care ritual is taking a bath. She loves to incorporate herbs and essential oils into her bath to reflect her intentions, and it’s a great space for meditation. The last book Jackie read and recommends is “Brida” by Paulo Coelho. When it comes to Calgary, Jackie loves a mural tucked away in Kensington that depicts “The Secret Origins of the Earth”. It is one of her favourite pieces in the city.
